It is a delicately balanced mix of high energy live drums, state of the art laptop production and seasoned guitar wizardy. With this synthesis,
Agobi has gained recognition from a wide range of audiences and scenes. The band strives to ensure that each show is not just a
musical experience, but a celebration of art of all forms. With this in mind in Agobi's mission, a positive, free spirited, healing and
purely magical experience has resulted every time they take the stage.

As of summer 2012, Agobi is proud to bring along Jerry Hendelberg of DubConscious on Keys!

They have shared the stage with The New Deal, Shpongle, Eliot Lipp, Telepath, Benga, Caspa, Rusko, Jacob Fred Jazz Oddysey, The Egg, Ott, Toubab Krewe, Two Fresh and many others along the way.

A new EP is in the works so expect some new sounds from Agobi in the next coming months!

Sonmi:
Sonmi is based in the funky, artist-laden city of Asheville NC, which is also home of one of music's most innovative musical creators, Bob Moog. Sonmi's sound portrays both the forward-thinking edginess of Asheville, as well as the organic natural landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sonmi consistently explores the delicate balance between natural humanism and the harder side of modern technology in their compositions. Initially formed in the winter of 2006, the electronic-pop-experimental band Sonmi began as three individually experienced young musicians reaching for the outskirts of their musical comfort zones. Early Sonmi tracks were comprised of electronic ideas of each member, brought to the group and expanded upon by the whole. The intricacies in their songwriting can be traced back to the individual band members and their musical backgrounds. After first sitting down at a piano at the young age of 7, Michael McBride (aka Peripheral - keyboards, samples, electronics) became fascinated with the endless boundaries of electronic music from first hearing artists like Prefuse 73 and Boards of Canada. With a BA in music education and a minor in percussion performance, drummer David Mathes (drums, electronics) has mastered an impressive variety of percussion instruments, as well as performed with with Drum Corps International as a World Finalist. After hearing bands such as M83, Boards of Canada, and Aphex Twin, he also studied electronic composition and synth design. Coming from both a father and a brother who played guitar, Robert Garmhausen (guitar, synth) studied piano and later became intrigued with the guitar sounds of indie and post-rock bands such as The Cancer Conspiracy and The Appleseed Cast. As the newest member, Nigel Gilmer (bass, synth) was entrenched in an aggressive solo project that featured live loops, bass, synth and djembe where he utilized complex rhythms and was inspired by such artists as King Crimson, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Jon Hopkins. The focus of Sonmi has been to marry the chemistry of the live musicianship with electronic programming and synths, and to challenge the lines between human performance and technology. Striving to break out of the sequencing trend and live up to the demanding presence of being a live band, they focused on the live show and aimed to capture that chemistry in the studio. In 2012, six years, an unreleased EP, and a member stronger, the band has done just that.

Satoru:
Satoru is a music producer and performer, residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Always staying true to musical composition, the sound of Satoru varies from intense weaving melodic synth melodies to rich emotional soundscapes. Satoru enlightens listeners with intricate glitch hop beats & heavy bass drops.

Peripheral:
Hailing from the eclectic mountain city of Asheville NC, Peripheral draws inspiration from the urban and natural aspects of the landscape. As one of the southeast's hottest up and coming producers, his music explores the electronic and organic, resulting in lush melodies layered with textured synths, edgy beats and samples and the occasional soaring vocals. He has shared the stage with artist such as Teebs, Sonnymoon, Michael Menert, Herobust, Ohbliv, and as the winner of the Urb MoogFest remix contest in 2010, his remix of Hot Chips song We Have Love secured him a performance in the festivals lineup. As a founding member, producer, and keyboard player for Sonmi, he has played MoogFest, alongside Beats Antique, and shared the stage with bands such as Break Science, Papadosio, Emancipator, and Blue Tech. Also playing keys, samples and electronics in the trip hop group Paper Tiger, he has played with Bonobo, Zeds Dead, and Archnemesis, at some of the southeasts finest venues and festival mainstages.
After first sitting down at a piano at the young age of 7, he became fascinated with the endless boundaries of electronic music from first hearing artists like Prefuse 73, Boards of Canada, and STS9 and dove into ableton and midi controllers. His versatility and depth as a musician genuinely shines through on his production and original composition.
His debut ep Elli-Veh-Sa, on SKEW Records, is available for free download at http://peripheral.bandcamp.com/
