Ore Yeye O!

Ore Yeye O! Greetings, Good Mother! Is what one hears from devotees approaching the river goddess Osun (pronounced O-shun). In the Yoruba pantheon, Osun, is the sweet goddess that blesses her followers with love, money and children. She represents beauty, power and respect/equality for all women. She is the powerful goddess of fresh waters and loves music, singing and dance.

This group show is dedicated to Osun's many aspects. It combines documentary and travel pictures as well as two-dimensional drawings and paintings. The images take one around the world from the sacred Osun Groove in Osogbo, Nigeria to an annual Osun Festival held by Atlanta devotees every 2nd weekend in August. The viewer will be captivated by colorful drawings/paintings that reflect Osun's grace, glory and powerful mysteries.
